Suits LA

Legal drama spin-off from Aaron Korsh following a former federal prosecutor reinventing himself as an entertainment lawyer in Los Angeles

In the fall of 2025, following a prolonged industry slowdown after the writers’ strike, I was thrilled to reunite with producer/UPM Ronnie Chong—whom I had previously collaborated with on Major Crimes and Angie Tribeca—for Suits LA, a new spin-off of Aaron Korsh’s hit series Suits.

Our challenge was to design a new Century City-based entertainment law firm to rival the hero’s firm established in the pilot episode, originally built in Vancouver. With the series relocating to Los Angeles, we were fortunate to have three sound stages on the NBC Universal lot.

After rebuilding the pilot’s law firm on stage in LA, the additional law firm build became a creative playground. We took inspiration from contemporary female-led workspaces—like Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop headquarters, Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, and Stella McCartney’s flagship stores—and layered in the iconic architectural influence of John Lautner.

The result was a bold, sophisticated environment that captured the power, style, and cultural relevance of a high-profile entertainment law firm.
